CDN, Störfestigkeit | 10 / 150 kHz - 230 MHz

IEC / EN 61000-4-6
IEC 61326-3-2
NE-21

Coupling/decoupling networks (CDN) are used for immunity tests against conducted disturbances induced by high-frequency fields in accordance with IEC / EN 61000-4-6 and Namur. The use of CDNs leads to a high repeatability of the tests and serves to protect additional and auxiliary equipment.

They enable suitable coupling of the test disturbance variable over the entire frequency range with a defined asymmetrical impedance at the EUT connection. At the same time, coupling and decoupling networks prevent the test signals from influencing other devices, equipment and systems that are not being tested.

A variety of cable types and connector types as well as matching calibration adapters are available for different areas of application.  We also manufacture special models on customer request.

  • CDN-M: Unscreened supply lines, e.g. alternating current (AC) grid, direct current (DC) in industrial systems, ground connection
  • CDN-AF: Unscreened, unbalanced interconnection lines, e.g. audio cables, PLC lines
  • CDN-T | CDN-RJ: Unscreened, balanced interconnection lines, such as communication cables
  • CAN-BUS: BUS-lines
  • HDMI | USB | CDN-S | RJ45S | USB | Firewire: Shielded connecting cables, e.g. coaxial cable, cable for LAN- and USB connections

To calibrate a coupling network (CDN), the following elements are required (AE and EUT side)*:

  • 2x CDG A 31xx (corresponding CDN connection adapters for AE and EUT side)
  • 2x CDG A 3100 (mounting bracket + 50/150 Ohm transition + 50 Ohm termination for AE side) or
  • 2x CDG A 3190 (mounting bracket + 50 Ohm termination for AE side) + 2x CDG 3110 (50/150 Ohm transition)

The following is required for the 1st coupling network*:

  • 2 x CDG A 31xx + 2 x CDG A 3100 or 2x (CDG A 3190 + CDG 3110)

For each additional coupling network, only two corresponding connection adapters need to be ordered*:

  • 2 x CDG A 31xx, optional for one connection adaptor each also a mounting bracket CDG A 3190

*Depending on the signal, termination can be omitted on the AE side. Please contact us for advice on the details.
